California or bust!

Well this adventure is about to conclude. We've really enjoyed our Texas venture. Met lots of new MOCers and enjoyed walking in the steps of history makers. Now (Monday morning the 29th) we head back home.

We are making a couple of stops on the road back. If things go well we will visit the Carlsbad Caverns; Look at the little green men in Roswell and drop some pennies in some slot machines along the way.

We hope to see many or all of you somewhere on down the road.

Dennis and Mary Kay

Dennis, we did the Caverns end of last week. Just great. Did not stop in Roswell. Tomorrow will be at Arches.

Enjoy

Dennis and Mary Kay,
If you go through Benson, AZ on I-10, we'd love to see you. We'll be attending the SKP chapter 21 rally in Amado, AZ (starting 4/5 but we're going a day early). Otherwise, we'll be on our lot at Cochise Terrace. Let us know your travel plans.

Jack,
Thanks for concern. I guarantee you we will NOT be traveling in a "blinding snow storm". As a matter of fact the least little thing and I'll be pulling off the road and parking the rig until such time as we feel it is safe! In looking at weather info things look pretty good but you just never know. See you soon. I hope you got your trailer back with all the fixes that were needed.

Dick and Toni,
Glad you got to do the Caverns and thanks for info. We do plan on spending a couple of days in the area.

Have a safe journey to the Arches and give Robbie and Alice a big hug from us.

Rich and Kathy,
We will certainly attempt to keep the rig with the "shiny side" up and see you folks in Siskiyou!

Wayne,
It was great meeting you folks. I apologize for not spending more time with you. I had a lot of questions I wanted to ask you but time just slipped away! Next time I see you I'll have my list ready. Thanks for helping make the Rally the success it was. See you on down the road. And by all means give us a shout when you get near Bakersfield.

Sharon and Don,
Sorry we missed you on our way over but you were still out of town when we came through. And since we are taking a different route back we won't be coming through Benson. But we'll catch up with you again one of these days.

Charlie and Nila,
Once again thank you do much for your great hospitality when we came through Benson. It was great seeing you folks and hope to see you out West one of these days.

Dennis and Mary Kay

Sorry we missed you, Dennis and Mary Kay. We'll catch up another time.

Charlie and Nila, we sure enjoyed having you visit us, along with Doug and Sharon, and Michael and Rene. It was a brief evening together, and a lot of fun. Maybe we can get together again if you're still in the area after we get back from Amado. Or maybe you're attending, too?

Ron and Rose,
Great seeing you at the Kerrville Rally. We will see you on down the road.

Sharon,
Thanks for the invitation and sorry you were out of town when we came by. Sounds like you got to have some fun with another California contingent. Glad they got a chance to see you guys.

Dennis and Mary Kay, We'll probably pull out around 9:00 in the morning. If we don't see you have a safe trip home. We really enjoyed having lunch with the two of you this afternoon.

Have a safe trip Dennis and Mary Kay, we stayed at the KOA Carlsbad and it was a very good park a little on the high end in $$$ but it was very nice. That elevator at the caves is a great ride too.

We have changed our plans. That's one of the nice things about not having plans set too tightly. We are skipping Carlsbad and instead going up I-25 to Albuquerque and spend a couple of days. We'll catch the Carlsbad item when we are back this direction.

We looked for a place to stay in a FJ at the north end of El Paso but decided to go on because it was not very RV friendly. Thought we might try WM in Las Cruces but way too small but it could have worked. There were 3 or 4 RVs in the parking lot. But we moved on north. Checked out an RV park on north end of town...... Let's just say it was a place that would have had us up all night wondering what was going on around us.

We kept going north and ended up in a SP called Leasburg. Nice park. Got a site with electric and water. It has a table in a little ramada and our nearest neighbor is 25 yards from us. Very nice. So glad we were flexible enough to keep moving until we got something nice.

We move on tomorrow to Albuquerque for a couple of nights.

Travel safely,
Dennis and Mary Kay
