Air Pump

I recently had a situation where I could have used a portable, 12vdc air pump. So I started looking for the same. Home Depot has a Ryobi battery powered air pump. Its rated at 125 lb/psi which is what I need for my 110 lb tires. Question, has anyone used this air pump, how did it work and will it really fill a tire to 110 lbs and not take all day? Is there a 12vdc air pump out there that will fill a tire to 110 lbs and not take all day? That's for your input.

I went the cheap way with the 12V AND 120V $50 compressors at HD and gave up trying. The 12V overheated all the time after only about 2 minutes run time. Took them all back and got this one.

Works great and is fast. Up to 150PSI.

The viair brand is used in many applications and is rated for continously run time. Someday I will have one and air horns on the truck as well for those "drivers" that cut in front of me while I am towing.

I have the Ryobi which is ok but not for continuos duty plus it takes a long time to get to a high pressure. I also have a viair 450p with 100% duty cycle. If you get a viair this is the only one with a 100% duty cycle all the others are rated at 33%.Will be getting the DeWalt DCC020IB this week, I expect it to be much better than the ryobi & I have the flexvolt batteries plus it comes with a 12 volt cord & you can buy a 110 volt cord for it.

NO, don't buy the Ryobi. I have one. Works fine on your car tires. 36psi. That's about all. Gave it to my kids.
I went with the Dewalt DCC0201B
https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCC020...lt+tire&sr=8-1
I already have the drill, battery charger and 2 batteries. It will run off 12v plugged into the TV/RV or 20v battery or 120v adapter (purchased separately).
Rated for 160psi. It will pump up 110psi. I believe the duty cycle is 10 min if going over 100psi. Rest time 20 min.

I carry a 120V 150PSI Porter Cable I need because of E load tires. I have a 2000W inverter installed on my truck, and it runs my Porter Cable if I need it on the road.

Ditto. The Porter Cable compressor is a good one. Several years ago, I bought mine from Amazon. It was a kit/combo that included the compressor and a couple of small pneumatic nailers. If the compressor broke today I’d go buy another just like it. I’ve used it (and the brad guns) so much, already— I figure it owes me nothing.
This compressor achieves max pressure quickly. I use it most often to run air tools, but I wouldn’t leave on a camping trip without it... it’s just too handy

I have this Ryobi compressor and it's been great. My tires run at 95psi and this unit fills them fine. I don't know how quickly it works compared to others but since I have a lot of Ryobi tools it's a good fit

Went through three different 12 VDC air compressors before finally biting the bullet and buying a ViAir. Faster than any 110 volt air compressor I have ever used. Worth every penny.

As 1retired06 said, Porter Cable, works great on truck and RV tires.

VIAIR

The main cause of blowouts is improper tire inflation. The VIAIR makes it so easy to check air pressure. The pancake compressor needs electricity, others need a battery. Hook the VIAIR up to your truck battery and you are on your way. This is my experience, hope it helps.

LOL, yea, not cheap, but very well made, 60 feet of air line, built in air gage, really nice carry bag, I am very happy with it!

Visit 450

I have the Viair 450, would not be without it! I have Sailun tires on my Montana that require 110psi. Have no problem getting there time and time again . They kinda pricey but worth it for the long haul.

I have a Ryobi One-plus and it will bring up the pressure on my tires to 90, albeit slowly. It is good for when I only need a few pounds on one or two tires. My Viare 400p-RV is the way to go though, but it is a little bit of a chore getting it out and putting it away. I got fed up with the inflation gun that it comes with it and got myself a VIAIR 00042 Tire Inflation Gun with 2.5" Digital Gauge. AAAhhhhh! ;-)
