New member and new to RV’ing.

Hello all! I am very glad to have stumbled across this website as my wife and I are new to fifth wheel life. We just bought a brand new 2019 Montana High Country 362rd. Came into some unexpected issues I didn’t think we would have since it is brand new. First off, there are several doors that don’t latch (master, outside kitchen, etc..) which is more of a nuisance than anything. But we’ve had some problems with our refrigerator going anywhere between 33-49 degrees. Finally put it on the coldest setting (5 according to the manufacturer book) for a few days and it finally seemed to stay between 33-35. It’s been staying steady for about 48 hours now, but not sure if I should get it checked out or maybe just keep an eye on it for now. Secondly our furnace and heat pump don’t seem to want to come on until we turn them up to 74. Then once it turns on, we can dial it back. Lastly, we had Xfinity come out to set up internet and our RV park comes with cable and he was nice enough to try to install it for us. But he found what he thought was a pretty big problem. He had great signal at the main power source which is in our underneath storage area, but once he tried to get power to the master bedroom which is right above the storage, he loses all signal. When he pulled the plastic wire covering off of the wall, he noticed that the cable was bent. He basically said Keystone did not make the wall with enough space for the wire and it will always bend and give out a poor signal. This is disappointing seeing as we have 3 TVs in this bad boy.. Has anyone else had similar issues? Thanks in advance for replies!

Welcome to the forum from Washington state and congratulations on your new rig. TV cabling has been an issue discussed quite a bit on the forum. The forum is searchable to help you locate them. Since your tech was not getting any signal I would recommend making sure the OTA amplifier is off. Having it on will interupt the cable feed signal. The door problems you are having should have been addressed during your PDI. If they were missed or only occurred after delivery they should be repairable under warranty no issue. HP were not available on our model at the time we purchased so I don't have any familiarity with them. Others on the forum with them or with knowledge of them will no doubt step in.

Thanks PNW Fireguy for the input. I’ve already called the dealership and about a couple of the problems and they were kind of like, it’s already sold, so not our problem. Definitely going to be calling them back.

Thanks Kyle & Lisa, and 1retired06!

Who did you buy from? As you are aware you still have warranty coverage regardless. Also you do not have to use the selling dealer to perform your warranty repairs. Keystone can provide you with other loca repair facilities.

Also nice to see you spell your name the right way ;-)

Bought it from Tacoma RV. Really nice people but I know most sales people are.. They also had great reviews online. But I agree, some if not all of this stuff should have been seen during PDI.

That is where we purchased from. I purchased directly from Donna the owner. Never had any interaction with sales force. The service department has a spotty reputation, as is the case with a lot of RV service centers. My experiences have been excellent. I am on a first name basis not because I have used them so often but because of my thoroughness in dealing with them. I am a believer in being a well informed consumer, trust but verify and that you catch more flora with honey than with vinegar.

Welcome to the forum! If you don’t get satisfaction from the service department, call Keystone customer service and ask them to hook you up with another dealer.

I believe for the heat pump & furnace you need to set 2 deg above the actual temp. If you have the rv fridge make sure on the cooling fins at the back of the fridge their is a temp controller that slides up & down. Make sure it is fully engaged on the fin & try sliding it up or down, it takes a little while to react. Good luck with your new rig & hopefully you will get everything sorted out.
