Showerhead slips down

The shower head slips down the tube that supports it and won't hold in place. Is there a fix that involves reversing the gripping mechanism? The zip tie is a temporary fix that will work but I'm looking for a more permanent fix.

I remember seeing a fix for this but after many searches including archives, I can't find the info. Any help out there?

I would guess taking it apart and roughing up the plastic friction part, and maybe stretching the spring would fix it. Our cable tie has worked for well over 2 1/2 years, not worried about what the neighbors think about my fix

The fix that I remember is to take the slide mechanism apart and flip the rubber part that provides friction over and reassemble.

My fix was to clean the tube and then reset the head. Have had no problem since. Good Luck!

Another fix was to take it apart, and cut a milk jug and use it as a shim behind the push button to make it tighter around the vertical arm.

Seems like I remember someone on here had simply placed a tie wrap under the sliding portion on the bar. That's a real easy fix. Just a thought if you don't feel like taking it apart. -Glenn

I used gripping tape and it doesn't slide anymore.

We simply wrapped the shower hose around the rod 4 times to help eliminate the downward pull, works for us...

Disassemble it and put a shim behind the rubber pads. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new head, No charge. Then I experimented with the old one and the shim worked great. Now I have a spare.
