Lynwood - I along with most of the rest of us are talking the Ford built 6.7 and current technology. Your 6.4 Navistar built is very different



1/4 mile times - most of us have no desire to put our trucks on a track. 12 second times with only a delete - I sincerely doubt that an 8000+ pound 4x4 pickup will get anywhere near that ET without lots more mods. engine and driveline.



I still want to see 'real' test results for a deleted 6.7

I chose to tell what I knew about the 6.4 because that is what I have. I didn’t keep up with the 6.7 as much as the 6.4 but the 6.7 were putting out about as much power as the 6.4.

My tuner is a Spartan. They only made tuners for Fords so these are not canned tunes. The trucks I’m quoting were stock except for the DPF removal a tuner and the air box. You can’t get enough air through the factory air box for this much power. They will develop up to 52 pounds of boost. That uses a lot of air. Every thing else is stock including the transmission which will hold up for thousands of miles.

I quoted ET only to demonstrate how much power these trucks can develop. I have never raced my truck and would NOT advise anyone to race their truck.

Like I said before I probably would not tune a new truck. Spartan made the best tuner and the EPA thought that wasn’t something they should be doing and fined them I think, about three millions dollars. The good tuners are a thing of the past. If you have trouble you are in trouble.

Just out of curiosity, how often do your trucks regen? I have a 2016 6.7 with 30K miles on it. It seems like the filter gets cleaned every other day. I don't do a lot of idling. Most of the miles are freeway pulling the 5er.

My truck regen'd about every 100 miles if I was doing mixed driving with no trailer. It seemed like it would want a regen about a mile from my house and never fully complete. My DPF cracked sometime last year and it passes smoke now. I'm getting around 500 miles now between regens. I can live with it....



With a trailer it will hit the 600 miles required regen even it the gauge says 0% full.

Just chuggin' around town, no load, probably every day or two - or maybe 50 miles. It wont regen as often if it is working and keeping things hot and cleaned out

A regen every 100 miles? Wow. Your mileage must have sucked. My truck doesn't give me a percentage unless I'm over 100% full, then it tells me to get my ass on the highway. Also, the diesel mechanic at the local dealer told me to get the guvment out from underneath. Way too many miles left on the warranty for me to do that.
