Oregon Coast

We will be going from Eugene over to Florence and then heading south toward Brookings. Starting with Florence we would like to spend about a week in four locations on the coast.

We went up the Oregon coast on Rt. 101 in June from California to Washington. I can only tell you about two CG's, but I am sure others can provide much more information. At Gold Beach we stayed at Beach Resort At Turtle Rock. It was gravel but really big sites and pretty well kept. You can easily walk to the beach from your site. The other place we stayed was in Lincoln City, Premier RV Resort. We had a site on the upper rim and could look out our back window and see the ocean! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. On Saturday night they had happy hour around a gas fire pit, which actually turned into almost a full meal. We didn't stay a week but it sure would have been a nice place to stay that long.

I am not sure what you are looking for in the way of RV parks and specific locations but here are some ideas.

Florence: The Elks have two RV sites. One at the lodge on Hwy-101 in town and the best one is their RV park about 1 mile north of town. I have stayed at the RV park on the river in downtown. Nothing fancy but convenient to the downtown shops and restaurants. Be sure to make dinner reservations ahead of time at the Waterfront Depot - I highly recommend it. There is also a County park west of town (I can't remember the name) which is supposed to be nice (RV-Dreams Howard and Linda stayed there).

Winchester Bay: 20 miles south of Florence is Winchester Bay. The Winchester Bay RV Park is a great place (albeit a tad pricey). Right on the river. Reserve a back-in spot on the west water side (trailer spots on the west - MH spots on the east facing the harbor).

Coos Bay: is another 20 miles south of Winchester Bay. The best place we have found there is the Mill Casino RV Park.

Gold Beach: I haven't stayed there but there are several highly recommended RV parks there. The jet boat ride up the river is well worth the time and money.

Yep do yourself a favor and stay at Winchester Bay Rv resort it does not get much better than that IF you can get a spot VERY POPULAR for good reason like Carl and Susan said try to get a back in spot next to the Bay the other side is the Marina for class A rigs we call it "luxury Row" because of all the high dollar class A's ,we stayed in the middle because if you are 40ft your rig is too long for the bay spots but no big EVERY spot has a view!!!!

Helmick I work here at the Salmon Harbor RV Park, You are right. Most of the parks in this area are filling up because of the Salmon Season. Most of our customers stay two months some time August into a couple of weeks Oct. The spaces here are small trailers are packed in like sardines. Let me know were you stay if its here in Winchester Bay I'll try and stop by for a greeting. Later.

In Coos Bay we stayed at Oceanside RV Park. Not too fancy, but beach is about 75 feet thru the 'sand dunes' to the ocean. Well actually, after looking at a map, it is a large bay. It is right next to a county park with a beach too. This beach was the cleanest I have ever seen. I asked if someone cleaned it and they said it just stays clean.
In Depoe Bay, we stayed at Sea and Sand. There are 3 'areas' to the campground. Near the highway with trees. A lower section nearer the ocean, but you back in away from the view. Then a mid section in which you can back in towards the ocean with a complete view of the sea out the back window. Now, there is a short walk down to the beach - maybe 50 yards from the edge of campground, as the park sits maybe 50-75 feet about the beach.

We liked our stay at Harbor Vista County Park in Florence. This is a quite park about 6 miles northwest of town. http://www.lanecounty.org/department...es/harbor.aspx
We also liked the Port of Newport RV park in town. This park is handy to things to do in Newport area.
