Thetford toilet warranty/replacement

The toilet continues to leak water from the bowl. Dealer said use "valve" treatment and continue to slide foot off pedal to let it bounce back. These procedures are not working and leaking faster. Now, dealer says it may take several months for seal to set. Anyone obtain a better toilet replacement from Keystone? I don't believe the toilet is going to improve and don't see why I have pay for a working toilet! Warranty will expire before a fix is made on my dime. Thanks,

Good luck! I had one replaced under warranty (Tetford is the only one warrantying it) when the flush valve litterally blew up. Then the replacement still leaked so I replaced the seal twice. No joy so I now have a Dometic and no problems. Until Keystone changes who they get the toilets from (and believe me I'll bring it up at the Rally) I wouldn't by a new unit until the dealer swaps out the toilet. No trailer kings and on tetford toilets for me.

Put it this way...if that puppy decides to flood your montana, was it worth not changing it out yourself for a dometic 310 or 320? And yes, the leak-o-matics have been known to do that as well for a few of us. Wish someone had told me prior. John

I replaced mine with a dometic in the first year. $200 is cheep insurance. I just don't want to spend my time R&Ring a sub-par toilet. Plus the aggravation of fighting with Keystone or Tetford or my rig in the dealers lot for weeks.

Yep ya gotta give it up and bite the bullet and go 310 or 320 on my 2012 it got replaced on warranty and then that one failed and flooded my floor and then my 2015 would not hold water and I did not bother getting another one as Keystone will only replace it with another POS Thetford ,SOOO Dometic again,my buddy with a SOB had the same problem

Last year in Aug when picking up our new purchase we camped at dealership for a couple days just to check out any issues. Thetford would not hold water, they lubed seal, still leaked, they replaced seal, still leaked, they replaced toilet, still leaked. I finally got them or Keystone to replace for free with Dometic 310. Issue solved.

Thetford sent a new seal that did not fix it, they then sent a new base for mine. It did not fix the problem from not leaking water, they tried to say it was installed wrong. I got tired of arguing with Thetford and bought a Dometic and it holds water just like it is suppose to. That would solve your problem as well.

Thetford Junk

7 month old 2019 3790RD. Replaced Thetford crapper with Dometic 320 on my own dime. Like mentioned in previous posts, WAY better product. Obviously superior construction. If Keystone wants Montana to keep being the best seller they should pull their head out of their butt and use quality products. I don't mind paying more if it is built better.

Just got back from our yearly 4 day Thanksgiving camping excursion. Boy was it cold/windy/rainy/Icey in Harpers ferry WV. Well anyway, our new Dometic 320 was sitting on the porch when we got home. Enough said.

You mean pull there their head out of the toilet lol. I replaced mine with the Dometic 320 after reading so many complaints about the Thetford. I had no problem with mine but didn't want to take any chances. Everyone on this forum have been warned about the Thetford but many continue to use them until something happens like flooding their rv. It sometimes is hard to replace something that isn't broken but it was just a matter of time so I replaced mine before I had a horror story to tell.

We had the same problem with ares first time out. The Dometic 320 was the best up grade.

Forget any assistance from Keystone. Just put in the Dometic 320 or 310 and enjoy the upgrade!!
