AC/Heat Pump

We have a 2018 381TH we just picked up, in the specs it says 16,500 btu heat pump. we have only spent a few hours in it so far & I never checked or asked, wasn't sure if it was standard or an option. Just curious if any one knows, thanks.

It is standard on our unit. It is built into the "taller" of the 2 a/c units on your roof, which should be the main quarters. The thermostat for that unit will be the only one that operates said heat pump. Your bedroom thermostat will have heat pump listed on digital thermostat, but it does nothing at all.

Was standard as well on our 2017 model, can't say we are too excited about it though.

We used our heat pump last night in Canada. Temperature wss down to 45F. It seemed to be cycling constantly. What temperature do these units work at, lowest temp? We switched back to furnace to warm it up in the morning.

Ours has worked well into the upper 30's but it won't do a good job on the living area no matter what because the heat is coming from the ceiling causing the cold air to pool on the floor where you're sitting. We use a small electric heater for that. If it's going to be below freezing we don't use it anyway because we need the furnace to protect the pipes and tanks.

We have found our heat pump works well until it gets below 47 degrees, which we run in conjunction with the fireplace heater.

Used mine this spring when I first bought the camper. Worked pretty good down to about 40. Main living area was supplemented by the fire place, bedroom stayed warm enough for me.

To add to that it doesn’t work well below 40 Degrees but it does help along with the Fireplace keep the furnace from running so much and we use way less Propane

I have also used an upright ceramic tower heater for help when needed. I pay for electric with site rental , so I save all my propane that I can.
