Tires are like truck brands; get what YOU like and take care of them.
Good luck
Safe travels

I'm all about buying U.S. made, but the G614's have a max capacity of 3500 lbs or 15,000 lbs for the four. My 3160RL max weight is 16,000 and the Sailuns have the capacity. Very happy with them.

Pbonaventure,

Remember all the weight of your rig does not ride on the tires. You have 2500-3000 lbs on the pin.

I'll also look at the Sailuns if I ever need to replace these G614s. Lots of $$ difference. But I am very happy and so glad I ditched the "China Bombs".

So "China Bombs" are not synonymous with made in china?

The Good Year G series are about the best on the market. When I got tired of blow outs I went to the G series and never looked back. When I bought our 2015 Montana and it was time to replace tires I went with the Good Year Endurance and after two summers have been well pleased. They are less expensive than the G series and seem to be a good alternative

I have the G rated good years on my Monte it's a 2015 and it's been kept in a garage for 3 of those 4 years. My question is what would constitute my buying new tires right now they're in perfect condition less than 3000 miles on the tires just age?

Just a note: The GY LT235/85R16 LRG is a unique steel cased RST tire that conforms to the standard LT tire inflation chart. In other words, its maximum load capacity is 3750# at 110 PSI. The ST235/85R15 LRG steel cased tires provide 4400# of load capacity at 110 PSI.

Yep. Age.
Check the build date on those tires and I'll betcha a poke in the eye with a dull stick that they were built in 2014. If your brave and drive slow on two lane roads in the winter time you might push you tire luck to 6 years but everyone behind you will hate you.

Remember that tires are way cheaper than tires and repairs. Seriously.
