Countertop bracing on peninsula

I have a kitchen peninsula that overhangs the cabinet by 18-24 inches. It is mounted crossways in the trailer. There is a wooden brace underneath (I assume so the counter top won't break if you lean on it). Anyway, after a few hundred miles down the road, the screws pull out of the cabinet. I reinstalled but same thing. Got bigger screws - same thing.
Does anyone else have this problem and how do I fix it?
Thanks.

Screws

I would get some of the clear gorilla glue and a toothpick and a cotton swab.
The gorilla glue works with water. Use the cotton swab to wet the wood down in the hole as best as you can, then poke a little bit of glue into the hole with the toothpick, then put the screw back in. The glue swells as it cures. I’m betting the screw will stay in place.

I thought of glue also. I am afraid that it would break something more serious the next time tho. If I can't figure something out, I may have to try it tho.

If you can get to the backside of it you could use a machine screw with a washer and nut.

The cabinet contains the water heater!! I am not sure how they would replace it if it went bad. So getting behind it is out.

Could you possibly use a toggle bolt?
