04 dodge and drive shaft alignment

I took the 5/8 spacers that were between the spring pack and perch some time back to lower the bed height at the tail gate by 1 1/2" to increase my bed clearance on my old Alpenlite that did not have an adjustable pin box and try to level out the fifth wheel . It worked for the bed clearance and had a little effect on leveling and the bonus was it made the driveline alignment noise disappear when not loaded but still had it loaded with the 7000 lb 5ver.

Anyway I have ordered a 2010 2955RL and want to know if I should replace the spacers to get more bed/snubber clearance and what have you done for the rear axle torguing under load and causing drive line alingment noise. I was thinking torsion bars. There is going to be a bunch more weight on the axle than before. Hope there are some Dodge owners out there. Thanks

Before you start modifying your truck, take a look at the pin box on the 2955. As long as you have a torque wrench, you can adjust the pin box several inches up and down. I did this to level my 2955 and did nothing to the truck. You will need a 2nd pair of hands to handle the pin box and hold it while you put the bolts back in.

Good luck.
