How to hang your laundry in the shower

I like to hang some of our laundry damp so I don't have to iron. I asked my DH to make me something that would fit in the shower that I could hang clothes on. I couldn't be more pleased with his solution. (Descriptions are underneath the pictures)

He used 1/2" PVC pipe and a 4-way connection. He glued 2 of the pieces to the connection to make one long piece. He used a grinding wheel to make a notch in one end of the long piece that fits over the shower rail and a notch in one of the short pieces that fits over the shower rail. The other ends sit on the inside shower ledge.

This picture shows one of the notches he made.

Here it is assembled. Note that he didn't glue the small pieces so that it stores easily. He ground down the 2 unglued pieces slightly so that they fit in easily.

This picture shows how it sits on the inside shower ledge.

This picture shows a closeup of how the notch fits over the shower rail.

Here you see how I can hang my clothes. When finished, I just pop out the two pieces and store all three in the closet. The materials cost less than $2 (excluding paint) and he has one happy wife!

That’s a great idea!
Thanks for the photos; it really helps to see what the project looks like.
That could also be used as a place to hang wet towels, which seems to be what we look for a lot.

Great idea! I always have wet clothes hanging everywhere but where it's convenient, so your idea is just what I needed to see.

How many uses for PVC?

Great idea. I'll build one for Earlene and make her happy.
