Basement outlet

Tired of having an extension cord running from the outside outlet on the slideout to under the awning where it is needed, I fixed the problem. I drilled a hole thru the ledge in the basement, put an 1 1/2 inch piece of pvc with a screw on cap on the bottom. I then mounted a duplex outlet on the bulkhead that I fed from the GFI outlet in the bedromm directly above. I also mounted the timer for my patio lights.

Redrover98,

Very interesting approach. I think I'll look into something similar.

Nice fix Redrover!

I put a post that Big Horn - a competitor - features an outside outlet under the awning for patio lights. I hope Keystone picks up this feature sometime.

Nice Job,

Like the way you can cap it off when not using it.

How difficult was it to get the wire up to the bedroom GFI?

Rick,
It was not hard at all. My wife wanted a nite lite in the toilet area so I did both. I measured over about 1 1/2 in. from the inside door molding and 6 in. up from the floor and cut a hole in the wall to accomodate an "old work" plastic outlet box. Then used an 3/16 long drill bit and drilled thru the floor inside the wall. In the basement I found the pilot hole and enlarged it to the wire size. I removed the GFI outlet in the bedroom next to the sink. KILL the bedroom circuit first. Fed my wire to the opening in the toilet area then down to the basement.
I also put an outlet on either side of the bed platform.
