Electric greg water tank value

Has anyone replaced the kitchen grey water tank value (Under the wheel well on a 3400) with an electric value?

If yes, how do you like it?

I hate getting under to open this value.

That valve don’t bother me because I leave it open all the time. Some will argue that it isn’t good to do that but as far as I know we haven’t had any problems with it staying open. I can understand their argument as well. As far as an electric valve that would be a nice mod.

I had to replace my a while back. Only because it was leaking. I do not have to crawl under the slide to open it..
One of the Moc members posted that he had replaced his with an electric one... Here is his member name maybe he can answer your questions....snfexpress

We also leave ours open; we sit here in Florida for five months, and never close. No smells, snakes, bugs, or alligators. Close only in those rare cases that we dont have sewer hookups. Every other time I dump the black tank, I do run a hose in and refil through the toilet and dump again, for good flushing of hoses and tank.

Getting to this valve is a real pain in the butt, especially if you forget to open it before the slide is out.

Here is what I did, took a 1/2" PVC T connector and cut the back of the long side off and clamped it to the valve handle.

Then out 6 inches of PVC into the bottom of the T, and a female screw fitting(one side screw, other glue)

Then got a copper pipe hanger and mounted it to the slide.

Then a 6 foot length of PVC with a male screw end.

so, I just insert the 6 foot length into the pipe holder and screw the male into the fixed female thats glued onto the valve handle and let the slide out.

Then the slide is out, I can pull/push on the PVC and it opens/closes the valve.

I did put a dowel rod into the PVC for added rigidity. All PVC is the hot water PVC cause its thinner.

The pipe clamp has double stick tape on it to hold it to the fender, but it pulled away.

As I said in my email to you, Mel, I replaced mine with Barker Mfg Auto-Drain as it is a retrofit and doesn't require the valve itself to be replaced, thus no plumbing.
