Galley Tank valve rod support

I had to replace my galley tank valve because the rod is about 12 inches long and there is no support where it comes out of the belly material. If the handle is pushed down toward the ground it will break the valve where the rod screws into the valve..

This is what I did to support the rod.
We have a 3000RK..

Nice tin bending!

We removed our galley tank handle, rod and cable and instead installed a remote, electrically operated valve. I was ruining shirts by snagging them on the slide rails; the $100 or so I spent has already been recouped!

snfexpress I am not that good at tin bending.. so I did the next best thing.. a nice piece of aluminum angle.. Drilled a hole just a little bigger than the rod at a slight angle, rounded the corners and used self taping screws.
