Air conditioner not working!!!

We have just arrived back in Florida and our A/C does not want to work. We can hear the motor working but the fan does not turn on and then the breaker blows. Any ideas - it's HOT down here. Diana

You say you "arrived back in Florida". Has it been working just recently or stored (or not used in a while)? I've read where someone climbed on top and just gave the fan a little start and everything was ok - evidently just gummed up from sitting a while. Another problem in certain areas of the country are mud daubers and/or wasps taking up residence in there. You can remove the cover on top and clean it out very easily.

Thank you VaMan. Again another reason this site is so great. My husband went onto the roof and said the fan was solid (we returned back to Canada and left the RV here in Tampa 3 months ago). Anyhow to cut a long story short, Air Conditioning is now working. Thanks again. Diana.

Meant to ask you one other question regarding the A/C. Should one lubricate the fan with WD40 or something similar? Diana
