Hi there, we are in process of purchasing a 2024 3761fl. We're trading our Open Range 316 which we have really enjoyed but ready to upgrade and get setup for retirement in few years. My parents rv'ed since early 80s and were able to camp in the 49 states and also several places in Canada. Hoping to do at least half of that.
I do have a question that I hope will answered....
We are purchasing through CW and they are claiming that if we decline the 4995 paint protection our interest rate will go up almost 2 points. I want to say no deal and walk away over that because I think it's a ripoff. Should I stick to my guns or is it really worth it?
Thanks everyone in advance!

Welcome aboard! I hope you get what you're looking for.

There are a lot more bad reviews regarding working with CW than there are good...especially regarding after sales warranty service. I would research dealers in your area and look for good post-sales reviews. The paint protection scam sounds like hokum to me.

No clue why the paint upgrade would have anything to do with your loan. Sounds fishy to me.

Donnei & Kim,

Welcome to the forum!

Find another finance source, you don't need a $5K wax job. We have had good service at our local CW that we did not buy from but they are not all the same.

Welcome! I agree that not all CW’s are the same. We have that exact model only it’s a ‘21 . We bought ours in Nashville Tn, but get all our service work done in Marion ill. I don’t remember anybody saying anything about a paint protection plan when we bought ours, but mabe they did I really don’t know for sure. I hope you like yours as much as we love ours. And again WELCOME

Camping World! Run! and don't let the door hit you in the *** either. Look for another dealership, even if you have to drive farther. That deal sounds about as stupid as stupid gets.

If you are wanting a good paint "protection", Resist All is really, really good. We had our done with Resist All when brand new. It's now 5 years old and when the camper is washed, it's about as shiny as it can get. It's never had wax on it. Same with my Chevy Colorado Pick up truck. 5 years now and never waxed! Automatic car wash, approximately twice a week, if not more, and the thing looks new .... I'm not exaggerating!

But what Camping World is doing to you..... that's ridiculous. Run! Tell them to shove it where the sun don't shine.

I bought my Montana from Camping World several years ago and think I got a very good deal on it, but I think that was only because my saleswoman was unusually honest, only working for the fun of it, and about to leave CW to work at another dealership. She took the offer I gave her to her bosses, and negotiated a lower price for me!

I have had bad experiences at that CW and another one since, with them trying to rip me off. This CW is definitely trying to rip you off.

My Montana was already old and out of warranty when I bought it used, so warranty coverage for repairs has never been an issue for me--but since you are buying new, the impression I get from reading the posts here is that warranty coverage for repairs is going to be an issue for you.

This CW is not going to do repairs quickly or correctly, and they're not going to help you if you have to deal with Keystone regarding warranty issues. If they're trying to rip you off with sales, they will try to rip you off worse with service.

I'd say look around and figure out where you're going to have service done on your new Montana first, before you decide where you're going to buy it. If you find a place you can trust for service that you can go to no matter where you buy, then go back to Camping World, call them on their crap and negotiate a really good deal, then buy your Montana and be done with them for good. If you can only find a good place for service that's a dealership, and they're only good if you buy from them to begin with, then buy from that other dealership to begin with.

Tell them, NO DEAL.
Walk away.
See how long it takes them to follow you to your car.
Lol

Shop around for financing. Credit Unions have very good rates.

We purchased a 2021 3761FL from camping world. I went in with a quote and financing for a little nicer rig from another dealer and told them to beat it. It took 4 hours of debate but they did finally match the deal. When we went to sign the papers they added a $9000 extended warranty to the contract. I told them no way I was going to pay for that and they either remove it or we walk! They did remove it. Stick to your guns!

If your close, I recommend going to Tiarra RV in Elkhart. We purchased our 2024 3231CK from there last September, sales and service have been great. Never did anyone recommend a 5K paint plan.

Secure your RV loan from another source, no way can a loan payment be tired to a paint covering option.

If you have ever sat through a Time Share sales pitch then you know CW's add on sales pressure. They even tried to trick me with a warranty. I sat through all that and when I went to right the check NO SALE because I wouldn't finance. Walk away!!! or RUN!!!

Here’s an even better suggestion. Call Tiara sales. They are in Elkhart, IN. They are the biggest seller of Montanas except the big boys (ex. CW, Lazydays and the like. We bought from them, got a great deal and no one nicer and more helpful than Tanner. It’s worth the call.
