Anyone hiding out on Or. coast this week?

Just wondering if anyone is going to be on the coast this week? We are going to heading to Warrenton,Newport,Florance and then head back up to Warrenton next Saturday for a couple of nights. So far it looks like the weather is going to hold and we will have a great time bumming around. Watch for the flashing lights on the Red Dodge!

Larry,
We're headed to Charleston tomorrow. Will be there a couple of nights then on north with final destination just south of Seattle. We'll be looking for the red Dodge. We're pulling with a white Ford 450. Happy Trails, Dennis.

We're in Ridgefield, WA a few miles north of Vancouver I5 exit 14 at TriMountain RV Park if you want a place to stay on the way back.
Cap'n Chris Holms is on the Oregon coast somewhere.

We are slowly working our way up the Oregon coast on our way to our daughter's place in Seattle. We left Charleston yesterday after a couple of days camped right on the beach. We arrived at Newport late afternoon. After checking in at the Newport RV Park and Marina we were headed toward our campsite and almost ran over Larry and his wife! Hard to miss his very nice looking Montana and very red Dodge!

We got setup and shortly afterward Larry came by and we exchanged pleasantries for awhile. We will be having dinner with Larry and wife about 6:30 here at the park. Located right next to the park is a nice little place called the Rogue Brewery. Good drinks and good food. Anyone in the neighborhood is welcome to join us. Should be good time to get all our stories straight! Happy Trails, Dennis and Mary Kay

Well the Rogue Nation will never be the same! We met for dinner tonight and everyone had a great time. Dennis,Mary Kay along with their daughter and grand kids took over the brewery for a couple of hours tonight. We enjoyed meeting everyone and hope they have a great trip north to Seattle.

If you're going to be in Warrenton this coming weekend, there will be some historic vehicle clubs at Ft. Stevens with their vintage military vehicles.

Greg and Kris, We are going to be in Warrenton on Sat,Sunday night so should be able to check out Fort Sevens. We are stuck staying at the KOA but will have a lot of fun anyway. Today we are going to head south to Florence for a couple of nights. This will be the first time we have stayed in that area for any length of time. Since it is our anniversary we will be looking for a nice place to eat this evening. 37 years with my gorgeous chick!

Well Happy Anniverary Larry! One of our first trips in our travel trailer was starting at Coos Bay and heading all the way up Oregon on 101. If you're staying at the KOA right across from Ft. Stevens, that's a really nice park.

Here's some info on the Stevens event:

Oregon, August 17 – 19, 2012: Fort Stevens Living History Days

Supported by the Central Oregon MVPA and the MVCCO with static displays and living history. For more information contact: Cal Applebee; (541) 999-0620 or militaryjeeps@q.com.

Call 541-902-9100 (after 1:00 PM) for reservations at the Waterfront Depot in Florence. You will *NOT* be disappointed!

Carl and Susan thanks for the recommendation for the Waterfront Depot. I got your message around 3:00 so we stopped by there but they were booked till 9:00. So I am going to try for tomorrow night. Since we could not get in there tonight we stopped by the casino and are going to try the steak house here. It should be quite good since I am up a nice $100 so I can treat my gal on them!!

There is nothing better than a steak paid for by the house! But your dinner tomorrow night will surpass it.

P.S. Save room for the Oregon Berry cake.

I wanted to post a recommendation for the Harbor Vista Park in Florence as this is a very nice park. The fee runs $25 a night with power and electric. This is a county park and is a couple miles northwest of town but is well laid out with a lot of space between sites. I would also like to add the Port of Newport RV park to this list. This park is very handy as a base for spending 3-4 days sightseeing the Newport and Lincoln City area. The price runs about $38 with Good Sam but is very convenient as it sits next to the marina. The Rogue Brewery is next door so you can walk over to have a great dinner or if you want to drive your trike as Hamrad's grandson did they have handy parking available!!
