Sounds to me like the jack screw is striped if you can move the landing gear up by hand

Was planning on just replacing the pin but the tech advised that, in his experience, whatever caused it to shear will do it again(9 years old). Also, if one went bad the other may not be far behind....both are being replaced this week. I think the last straw for the jack was that twice in the last month I was in sites with a large fore / aft slope (nose high). I had to run them real high to unhitch and then retract to get fore/aft level. My guess is that the hyper extension was just too much for the old boy.
