Floor damage from slide out

I have a 2010 Mountaineer 285 RLD. A screw on the bottom of my slide out for the living area came loose and tore a hole in the vinyl flooring. I looked at a newer model Mountaineer yesterday and there are no screws on the underside of the slide out. Is this a design flaw that has been corrected since 2010. Has anyone else had this problem?

Afraid I had the same problem within 4 months of taking delivery. Fortunately it was then covered under warranty. What a mess. Tore out the vinyl and carpet (left hand side near the couch). Now I run my hand along the bottom before I close the main slide to ensure another screw hasn't worked its way out. Look out for that sliding door between the bedroom and the living area. Its track came out of the ceiling soon after. I now have a 2x2 under it to support it during travel.

Thanks for the info. Since they have changed their design, I wonder if they have a service bulletin about this problem. This is an expensive repair. Thanks for the heads up on the sliding door track also.

You may unscrew them, put silicone in the hole then screw them back in... After the silicone cures place a small, abt 2" piece of tape over the screwheads... Check the tape regularly for damage... Good luck!!!!
