5th wheel movement

We use about all of the above..when set up in Florida. Jt's, Stablizers, Wheel chock, Bal chocks between the wheels. When the W/d is spinning it still shakes the 3400 otherwise it is about 85% stable . We will try stablizer jacks under the frame this winter. Unless you get it up on a cement block foundation you will not get all the movement out. We are not that sensitive to some movement as we have accepted that we are in a RV that is on wheels and has a suspension system.

Beakyfudd- I'm thinking of making the rear stabilizers out of some long shaft material I came across,extended 4" nuts for adjusters.It will take me a few days to think it through and draw it up.Thanks for the reply.

We are solid as a rock. Ran the W/D last night and you could only feel a slight vibration when on high spin. The solution is simple. Park in a quagmire. We are at a rally in a fairgrounds parked on grass. There have been torrential rains for the last 3 days..this is the fourth. We and everyone else are sinking into the muck. The muck asorbes the movement and holds the 3400 fast. We are @50 feet off a hard" road and 4X4 is going to be of little use execpt to dig a deeper hole. Anyhow..head for that wet spot.. The more muck the more stable you will be.

The JT’s Strong Arm Jack Stabilizers are extremely expensive. In order to have front and rear JT’s Strong Arm Jack Stabilizers it would cost me almost $1000.

Ron, I don't know where you are getting your JT's but they are in no way that expensive. About $280 for the six and if you install yourself, Well!!!! Even if you have them installed $200 max. I had mine installed but a lot on here do it themselves.....

JT'S Stabilizers $300.00 two years ago,installed them myself and are very happy with them.

Montana 3400 a few campers up from us hooked up to a 08 F-250 Ford 4X4. Switched to 4X4 and went stright down..Tow truck on the way. No one has got out of here on their own today.. It has started to rain.. This will be a interesting adventure...But we are having fun and we do not need to be anywhere.

Hey Rich...Are you guys wearing hip waders? I keep a pair in the Mountaineer for fishing and other emergencies.I found out they come in very handy sometimes.Hope you and everyone can get out okay...sounds like 12.00 x 20 non directional military tire terrain to me.

We got the competing but identical brand from Camping World last year. We had the RV Dealer co-residing with CW install them. Total cost, out the door, was a little over $400.

Rich, you like that muck, huh? I guess we're very fortunate our washer and dryer do not shake this rig at all. In the toily floor I can feel a very slight buzz when the dryer is going but only if I'm barefoot. But we're not without movement in our current location. I need to find some muck.

Acually when we are properly set up the W/D sends out a low level vibration on the high spin cycle.It is not that bad at all but this muck dampens the vibration to where it is hardly noticable. We are firmly imbedded in this quagmire as everyone else is. Folks are now looking for firm places to park the trucks. I was on level ground(muck) and all six wheels just dug in. We rotated out and found some paved space for the truck. We can't get under the camper to even hook up. We thought we had seen worse but we have revised that to this is worst. The rain is down to a heavy mist. It is difficult to move away from the 3400 due to the muck. I do have my Edie Bauers on board. A wrecker pulled out a 3400 a couple of spots down this afternoon. As the 3400 was being pulled out the weight of it put a trench 9 inches deep in the muck(I measured it) out to the road.

Rich, Your RV park, what is the name and where is it located? Sounds like a place to avoid especially in the rainy season.
Some years ago we had a very similar episode in Vermont but in our case my 4X4 set in low range was able to get the Monty out. We had tire tracks 4" to 5" deep in the mud for nearly 25 yards.

It is the Missouri State fairground in Sedalia, Mo. We are at the Escapee's rally and had no choice in C.G's. They do have some public camping and they are very nice.. full hooks, 30 amp, goodwater, good power, Sedalia right around the corner. All the campsites are on Grass ere in the west campgrounds. We are told the sites are better in other areas. With all the rain we have had over the last 4 days I think we would have sunk anywhere. I think if we can get 2 ays of no rain, a breeze and some sun it will firm up.
