Doing a PDI on a New Montana

Is the Montana Maintenance Check List the same check list that is used for the PDI? If not where do I find the PDI checklist?
Thanks Ellis

Ellis -

If you go to the Home button at the top, you will be redirected to the Montana Owners Home Page. At the bottom is a section called RV Related Links (at the bottom, center). Click on that and it will take you to a list of links. On the right hand side about 2/3 of the way down is a section titled PDI - Pre Delivery Inspection. There are a few of them there. However, they have not been updated in a while and don't cover many of the issues discussed on the forum. I just got through redoing one for myself using one of those as a starting point. I would be happy to share if you email me. I broke it down into both a Word and Excel document. I believe I have 180 different items, including the new Remote system for awning and front legs/rear stabilizers.

Ron, Could you email me your version of the PDI. The PDIs I have listed do not have all the info for these new Montanas and a new version would be very helpful to all. ThanX

On the way, Glenn. I have kept the original author's credits in the Word document.

Ellis, Ron sent me the PDI checklist last week so we can do our checks next week on our new one. It is a very extensive list and will stun your dealer when you pull it out and say, "now let's get started"!
If they know about MOC, they will be expecting the list.

Rondo -

That's where you get up early in the morning, fight through traffic, to get somewhere, and then go into a building to wait for them to give you money for shuffling papers so you can buy a new Montana every five years or so. Then at the end of the day you drive home through more traffic to your wife and say, "I'll be glad when I don't have to do that anymore". I think the latest downturn has added another two years to the above scenario.

The latest downturn can't be to bad if you can afford a NEW Monte!!! I think I remember that type of thing happening to me but it has gotten very faded in the old brain! Retired from the Post Office and carrying mail for 32 years three years ago and do not know how I ever got things done around the stick when we were working or had time to go to that job come to think of it! LOL Take care and enjoy!

This is what we did on our PDI.. We gave the dealer the PDI list about a month before the 06 3400 was delivered and said this is what we we going to do. When it came in I went to the dealer and did preliminary check out of the camper. We then left making sure the dealer had the PDI in hand and made a appointment to be back in a week to do the full PDI. We returned in a week and it took two days to do the full PDI. The dealer was 100% co-operative as was his PDI tech. When we were satisfied we wrote the check for the camper. Up to that time we only had a small deposit invested and were ready to walk away if required. We rolled off the lot 100% trouble free and remained so for 7 months of local camping including our 1st fall rally. Then we left for AZ for the winter and on that long trip and got as far as quartzsite wher it caught on fire and months of failures followed. We have been trouble free now for over 8 months and think we are over the hump. Note that we are Long timers and use this 3400 hard. IMO in a manner it was never desighed to be used.It will be 3 years May 6,09 since we had that problem free PDI.
We will keep it...
