Stop scrubbing that grill!!

We came across a product that ends the grill scrubbing that no one likes. It cleans up with a paper towel and light wash with dish soap and water and a sponge.. No more scrubbing! If you grill, this will be your new best friend. You can cut it with scissors to custom tailor it to the size and shape of your grill surface. We love it!
No, we don't sell it nor do we have any financial interest in the product. Just passing along what we've found to be an excellent product.
It can be purchased here with NO SHIPPING CHARGE:

No No No this is not good.... If the smoke and smell from my grill/barbecue does not extend in at least a two row radius in the RV park then it just is not working right. The juices from my steaks and chops must be allowed to drip onto the burner covers, creating flare ups and that wonderful smell and taste that can only be produced by cooking that way. It does not appear to be something you can do with this product.

Instructions say not to cut it, not to use on high heat or direct flame, I wonder what the coating on the material is and how good it is for you.

The only part of my grill that gets cleaned is the outside, clean the grill and everything sticks to it. Remember the old cast iron fry pans and how you had to cure them before they were any good. That's my grill.... I still use a cast iron fry pan as well in case anyone was wondering.

It is however an interesting product and seems reasonably priced, thanks for the link.

Thanks, just ordered me some. I have a Holland Companion so I don't worry about flare-ups, but I also have another portable grill that I use a lot and this will work great on it. Can't wait to try it out.

We bought them at the big tent at the "Q". I love them. I just use a paper towel to wipe clean. I've done everything from steaks, chopped veggies to bacon and eggs. Just be careful not to get them too hot... the Weber Q is fine on high, my home BBQ would get way too hot for the mats.

All I have ever done is scrape after heating up the grill and a slight wipe with some wet paper towels. I would think a grill grate is similar to an iron skillet, the more seasoned, the better. That is only my opinion. It was hard enough to switch from charcoal to gas and losing the charcoal flavor, so I think I will pass on the mats. Interesting concept though, reminds me of a brother-in-law who will not use a grill without covering the grates with tin-foil. I always thought it kind of defeated the purpose and that one might as well cook in a aluminum frying pan? Guess I am behind the modern, convenience-centered times??

Bingo,
I would have thought the same however, I did some chicken last night, marinated in some Italian dressing. The dressing stays on the mat and flavors the chicken. Next to the chicken I had some chopped veggies in olive oil. We also slow cooked BBQ baby backs using my son's dry rub. Awesome!

After I bought these at the Q, I have looked all over for them, on-line and otherwise. I only found them in Australia. Now we have a domestic source. I just ordered 3 more sets for gifts!

I just scrape and brush the grill until its devoid of sticking food. I do that before the grill cools down but after shutting off the gas. Occasionally I'll remove the grill and scrape the gunk out of the tub but only when it clearly needs to be done.

Just got mine in. Will try them out next week on our trip. Of course, I plan on using one of them on my Holland at home, so I might throw a couple of steaks on it in a day or so.

I scrape mine then wire brush it get it good and hot then a water soaked rag rubbed over the grill that usually take care of the small stuff.
But when I have a good campfire I put my cast iron grates in the fire and it burn it real clean by a baptism of fire.

Cooked chicken breasts, pineapple rings and corn-on-the-cob on the grill tonight. It does leave grill marks and is easy to clean up. I think that I am going to like it. Thanks for the heads up on the product.

Get a small pile of old newspapers...soak, and I mean soak them with water. Set the grates on top. Get another small pile of old newspapers and put them on top...soak them. Let sit over night, brush crud off the next day.
