slide out question

on an 03 3670 Big Sky, does anyone know what the fix is when taking the slide outs in or out the system stops for around 10 seconds and thenpushing the buttons again the slide out will continue to work for a few feet and then it stops. Then I will have to repete the process probably around 3 or 4 times to get the slides in/out. I was told by Keystone its some relay issue. But I don't have a fix. I do have a new battery and that hasn't helped at all. I know this is a common occurance with rv's.

You can either replace the 50 amp auto reset breaker on the hydraulic system with a new breaker, and see how that works, or do as Lippert recommends and parallel two breakers in it's place (up to 50 amps each). BTW, very common problem.

Look at this.

bobby A,
Simplest place to start is to replace the 50A auto-reset breaker on the bulkhead above the battery and below the hydraulic pump. It's under a red cover and wired between the pump and battery. Part costs around $7 and replacement takes about 10 minutes. Find the part at RV store or Cabela's. Disconnect the battery, undo the old and put in a new one. Voila! Get two when you buy the replacement, for a spare, or if you decide to go the two in parallel route. I replaced mine a couple of years ago and still have my spare. BTW, make sure that all pump connections and grounds are tight, too.

O.k thanks guys for your help, I know its a common problem, and not just with Keystone products either. I'm not sure if the weather will cooperate hear in Michigan for me to make the fix this winter but I will put it on my to-do list for the spring. By the way, what does this auto-reset breaker look like ??
Thanks again

I suggest you call Lippert. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful. I had a slide problem, they diagnosed it and sent me a new individual room controller...no charge.

How many batteries did yours have? I just got the same year and model and there was two 12 volts batteries. Now I'm wondering if this is just something the prior owner added.

I just received my 50amp circuit breaker from Cabalas and I noticed it has 24 volts written on the side of it.Will this work on 12 volts?

I picked up my 50 amp autobreaker from my local rv store, I didn't notice if there was any writing on the side and I don't have it hear to look at for you. You might want to pose that question to someone more knowledgable than me.

I just finished this job last week! I got a lot of help from the folks on the forum and actually got the same diagram that is posted here previously.

I was able to search ebay and get the Bussmann Hi-AMP 80 AMP automatic breaker that is shown in the diagram. I can give you the supplier if you can't easily find it. The only hitch was that the connection screws are larger on the Hi-AMP than on the stock one (Mountaineer). So I needed to change out the connections.

It seems to work very well. Good Luck!

Thanks to all who provided info on this issue, but I was wondering, Lippert must of came out with a revised fix. The first one was to parellel two 50amp breakers, now they are saying to use this Hi-AMP 80Amp breaker ??? Yes, Gumby56 I would like the info on where you purchased this new fix.

Thanks again

Thanks to every one who replied to bobby's slide out problem . My 3400 is having the same problem and its just doing the exact same thing bobby's is doing, I was worried I am leaving for Arizona in 5 days and mine just started doing this, I thought it was something more serious. Thanks to all of you again, Louis Jensen

It seems that these little problems occur to several of us at the same time. Thanks for the information, our trailer is doing the same thing.

One other item with the slides being slow. Have you lubricated them lately? Extra friction will make the pump work a lot harder.
Cheers,
