Montanas have only been around a few years. So you can't expect to see a lot of miles. Need a few more years to get a proper sampling. Happy rving....

How do you really know how many miles you have without a trailer odometer?

I agree You can not go by the speed-o on the truck, when you hit a RV park you rig is parked it ain't moven but the truck still is.
Any way a trailer is only going to last as last as long as the owner keeps doing his PM's ( Preventive Maintenance ) on it. when he fizzels out so does the trailer.

I keep a "log book" for the Montana that includes a daily log of miles towed. I use my trip odometer in the Chevy to keep track of the towed miles. I also list any maintenance I do in this log. (Such as, wheel bearing repack.)

Most of my tows are "trips" not weekend jaunts so it's pretty easy to keep track. For instance one trip to Orlando is 3,000 miles for me. So, If I only went to Orlando every winter 5 years would be 15,000 miles.

But, I find I put on 12,000 in 18 months. Going by my mileage, I would expect a few Montanas out there with 60,000 or so .. but they seem very few and far between. I have a lot more personal e-mail on worn tires and bent axels then I would like to see.

I have no real idea the miles on ours but would estimate 15000 to 20000 miles. It's been to both coasts twice and now is nearing the right coast a third time. Also been to the south as far south as San Antonio, all up the left side of the country, etc. And still we haven't scratched the surface! The Montana is doing just fine. We've decided it's done so well we're going to keep it.
