nope. I have a honda parallel kit I use and ai also have a firman parallel kit as a back up.

Thanks, that is what I am looking for. Are these wire ends compatible with the Predators.

I have 2 Honda 2000's [with parallel kit wired to a "Shore - Genny" switch] in the front generator compartment. I did use a thin sheet of non combustable material on top of 4 4x4 blocks to raise the exhaust's over the lower ledge of the hatch which if left open provides enough air for the gennys to run and also keeps the compartment from getting hot - the door just hangs down vertically. I will ,and suggest you think about, putting fuel in containers that just fills an empty tank. It's kinda hard to see into the tank when filling with a gas can and I always just let em run dry anyway. I'll just take off the top and dump it in - no overfill / spill problem. If I think CO might be a problem I'll mount a small 120 V fan up high in the compartment & plug it in but it seems sealed off from the living area.
I don't want to leave the gennys in the truck - 1. they'll get swiped 2. DW will take off in the truck with the cord attached. 3. they take up too much room in my SB w/slider hitch.
Thats just what I've done and why - good luck.

A very minor modification to the exhaust on my 3000 Honda allows me to run it with the lid open and no issues with heating. It also is easy to refuel. I also added a 30 amp plug in my basement/battery compartment that connects to the main panel and use a cord from that plug to the generator.
Another benefit to this type of install is the ability to have use of the generator wherever else around my property that I might need or want it.
Perhaps something to consider.

How did you wire a plug in the front ? Easy to do? That would save me from running out the cord from the back and using an extension. Let me know please 😬

I've read and heard numerous cautions not to fill gas containers in the back of a pickup bed. Because of static electricity your supposed to move the can to the ground and fill it there to avoid an explosion. So the same would apply to filling your generator tank from a gas pump?

I have a large Champion generator I purchased new 2 years ago. The instructions with it say it should not be operated in a pickup bed which I believe is related to electrical shock. It's a dual fuel gas/propane and I believe it is not grounded to the frame of the generator. Some generators are ground to the frame and some are not. I don't know what cautions come with those generators that are grounded to frame.

Things to consider for someone thinking about doing this.

My response is somewhat related to how often you are hooking and unhooking. If seldom, I would go with having the generator in the truck. We did this and had no problem whatsoever in obtaining help with lifting the generator in and out. I suppose if you are often having to do this (like every week or so), it could be a pain. We would still go with the truck mount as opposed to giving up the RV storage space. We were full time and perhaps that would also make a difference as to the need for more RV storage space?

The safest place is on a rear hitch mounted platform, close to power cord plug, easy to refuel, lockable, easy to start and service.

I've been told many times by putting weight on the back of a 5th wheel can throw "off" the over-all balance of the rig. If this is not true, I would agree with Montana Man.

What shore generator switch did you use
Thanks

The Predator 3500 is only 107 lbs. Just leave the fresh water tank about 13 gallons from full to compensate for the generator.

I have a new Honda 2000si on a rack on the back. The rack and the hitch had to be reinforced significantly to handle the weight (and the bouncing mentioned earlier). The Camping World rack is supposed to be good to 500 lbs but don't believe that. A short 30 amp cord and adapters have it pluged-in within 3'. Sitting in my easy chair at the rear window I can feel only a little vibration (because the hitch is reinforced to the Monty frame) but hear no noise. The generator is strapped down and a heavy chain/locks will stop it from walking away.

Is there any problem with paralleling a Predator 3500 with a 2000 using the 50 amp parallel kit.

Predator 3500 runs at 3000W. VA=W So=25AMP +/-
Predator 2000 runs at 1800W So = 15AMP +/-
If they can parallel then you could get 40AMPs +/-

Then I have been wrong before so....

I was thinking that the 3500 would handle the line one requirements and the 2000 would handle the line 2 draw. I'm just not sure how the electrical panel would handle different amperage on the two lines.

Do you have auxiliary gas tank ( marine tank ) connected for extended run time.
