Furion makes both backup as well as an observation camera models. The backup model is designed only to be energized while the vehicle is in reverse. While the observation model is supposedly suitable to be energized regardless. My dealer installed my backup camera so that it is energized regardless. I have not had a problem yet besides intermittent connectivity due to distance and/or interference.

In my researching of these cameras, its best to get the "observation" set up as it also works as a back up camera too. It is like a $20 upcharge for the observation unit. Haven't met anyone personally that has it to get honest feedback from, not just reading reviews as they are sometimes skewed from dishonest feedback.

Also they are "plug and play" if your unit is prewired for them.

ANYONE here actually have them and can let us know how they actually operate ,please let us know !!!

I installed the Furrion FOS48TAPK-BL observation camera on my 42 foot 381th. very easy to install as the camper is pre wired for the camera, it is simply remove to screws to remove cover on back oh camper, plug in the power lead and mount camera with two screws the reinstall camera. I went with the observation camera because it is on all the time and it helps with lane changes. only tip I can give is to read instructions as you need to sinc the camera to the monitor before you mount it.

My truck had the Ford auxiliary camera and I installed it on the Montana. It then displays on the dash display.

Our 2015 3611 came with the backup camera... It didn't work worth a hoot.

Upgraded to the Furrion FOS48TAPK-BL observation camera and are much happier.

The observation flavor is supposed to have a stronger signal. Do you have the ultimate trailer tow package on your truck? if so you can get a wired camera that uses your display in your truck. I have that and am happy with it. it is not hard to install.

We do have the ultimate trailer package. I bought a truck off the lot that had the auxiliary/back up comer and then but a plug and cord that allows the camera and trailer cords to be plugged in, inside the box. Works great.

I have had 2 observation cameras. A RVS with a large display and a Furrion with the 4 inch display. The Furrion works great and I never lose signal but I would spend a few more bucks for the larger display where you can see more detail.

We do have the option of installing the ford camera system but we watched some videos on installation and it seemed overly complicated. You'd have to run wires down the back and under the trailer or over the roof and down the front to plug in the bsvk if the truck. If anyone has some good pointers about ease of hiding the wires, our preference would be to go that way especially because it had the tire pressure monitoring system. The furrion just looked so much easier to install. We just don't want a bunch of wires running on the exterior of the camper. Tgank you to everyone fir your input

Ours was wired to the running lights. Turn on the tow vehicle head lights to see if it works.

Ok. We disconnected the trailer already and tried using a fuse to turn on running lights but it still didn't work. Might have to take it down and make sure its paired or wait till we have it hooked up again. I know the manual stated to check that the converter was on so i assume they mean the electric panel. Thanks fir your help

As stated above ours works off the running lights which are totally separate from the converter.

If the running lights did come on, you’re right that it may be a pairing issue. Or it’s powered some other way.

Our camera (not a furrion) has a pilot light next to the camera lens. It’s bright enough to see in daylight.

furion cameras

I purchased the Haloview camera (179.00) from Amazon and installed it by wiring to top rear clearance light. When I travel I have my lights on.Fairly easy install if Keystone would have given a little more wire to work with.It came already paired and works fine. Have not had any issues.
