Glass inserts on cabinets
Our unit less than a year old. It the last month or so we have had two of the glass inserts in cabinets fall out due to the caulking drying out. Have any of you had this same issue?

Not on our '07 model purchased July 07. About 8500 miles on it.
Take it to your dealer and have them correct it.

Sounds like a manufacturing defect in that they used old adhesive. I have a 2006 rig and the cabinet door adhesive is still good and in fact still pliable. For this to work correctly the adhesive must be "fresh" when it's applied. The other possibility is that they used caulk and not adhesive.
BB TX is right - Back to the dealer quick! Otherwise you'll need to remove all the glass inserts yourself remove all the old gunk that's there and replace with the correct adhesive. The adhesive is not expensive but it's a lot of work cleaning off the junk and neatly applying the new adhesive. If not careful and you apply TOO much adhesive it can get real messy.

I'm new here, but been building cabinets for alot of years. I've never seen this, and as soon as I pick up my 5er in april I am going to look at the two glass doors I have. I wouldn't build doors like that for a house, let alone a moving rig. back to the dealer for sure...also, glazier pins would certainly be a safeguard, as long as you have a small offset.

Phyllen,
We have a 2002 year model and we've had one glass insert fall out. It did not break and we simply reinstalled with grout or whatever you should use and made sure the pins were in place too. Not bad for the number of bumpy roads we've pulled on this thing. Frankly I'm surprised more things have not fallen off!
Good luck,
HamRad

Like hamrad. We had a 2003 2955RL up until '08. We had one of the inserts fall out of it. But no problem putting it back in and caulking it.

I have a 2004 Montana 3650RK and I had one fall out. It appeared to be hot glued in place. I removed all the old glue on both the frame and the glass, cleaned it good and used silicone to reglue the glass in place. No problem since.

Ours is a 02 model actually built in 01. We haven’t had anything fall out since we’ve owned it. I haven’t even considered that they would. I’ll have to check on them and keep a watch on them though. Thanks for sharing the information.

About 6 months ago we had one fall out. We have an 05 Mountaineer 297RKS, it didn't break. I took the door off and all the old silicone just peeled off. I've now got another loose one. I'm not sure if it's the AZ. heat or the 2 miles or dirt road we have to travel to get home. As long as they don't break, I'm happy.
