Quotes from Dealers Over Internet

I am ready to get serious about ordering a 3400RL and I would like to use the same process that I used to buy my motorhome. I provided the model number and list of options to several dealers over the internet & they gave me a firm quote.

I would like to use that same process to buy my Monty if possible. Anyone know of any Montana dealers doing business this way? Thanks in advance.

I found one in the Columbus area, who was VERY informative and very honest and another in WA but I can't remember where. I have the information at work but I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses on here. You'll find most people to be in the same area, price wise, but you'll just sort of get a "feeling" about the ones you think you can trust. Of course you can then ask here about a dealer and you can bet someone has used them!

We ordered a 3400rl last month from a dealer in Clyde, Ohio www.townandcountryrvcenter.com the owners name is Bill Tea.
You will have a hard time finding a better price..We put 14 bids out all over the country and no one came close. Send me a PM(private message)and I will provide more information.

Rich,

Are you familiar with who I'm talking about in Columbus, at least I'm pretty sure it was in Columbus. He was very informative and honest, he even told me he wouldn't be the lowest price, but he had some of the best information of anyone I've spoken with, outside of this forum.

hi, we have found over the years, and a number of RVs, that it is more important to find a dealer you can take the unit into for service and warranty work, than getting the absolutely bottom price. Imho, dealers that sell you a coach work a lot harder to make any problems right than the dealer who is 1000 miles away.

Foley's RV out of Seattle will sell Montanas to Costco members for a special price.
You can do a search for Foley's and you can email them. They need your Costco number to give you the quote.

The dealer I had bought my last new RV with, Fraserway in Delta, matched this Costco price and gave me things I had forgot to negotiate. Two batteries, heavy duty sewer hose and fittings, heavy duty water hose and regulator all at no extra cost. They replaced a tire that had been repaired so there are dealers out there that give good service and a fair price.

I also bought without a trade so you know what you are paying for your new unit. Most dealers start with a high MSRP so they can pretend to give you a big dollar for your trade. Finding out the true fair price will let you know what you are really getting for your trade. good luck.

Don,

Foley's was the one in WA I was thinking of, their prices were very competitive, but I ended up just buying one locally. The service is the biggest thing of all to me and can't be underestimated.

Depends on how far you are willing to drive to get the best price. I checked within a 1000 miles of here and my dealership beat all but 1 dealer. After adding the cost of fuel, hotel, and food into the process found I broke about even (within $500). If a dealership wants your business bad enough they will deal online. Best of luck on your shopping, the 3400RL is a great unit.

If you're willing to travel, you might consider Bretz RV in Missoula, MT - talk to Kip. The phone is 1-888-666-8787. Prices are good, service is good, and there is no sales tax! That will save you quite a bit.

I agree about the dealer being important. We are in Florida for a few more weeks before heading back to Ohio. The Dealer in our area here in Florida has a great rep for service but doesn't want to deal much off of MSRP. We travel back & forth between Southwest Florida & Cincinnati a lot so I could use any good dealer east of the Mississippi without too much trouble.

I used the Montana site to look for dealers around Cincinnati and there arn't many listed. I will check out the Columbus and Clyde dealers.

Thanks for the replies so far. Anyone else have a suggestion?

There is a MOC member here who works at Couchs campers in Ohio.Look him up in the Members area.Think his screen name IS couches campers.Agree that the Dealer Is very important during the warranty period. However if you are out of State and far away from your purchasing dealer or travel alot that may not be so important.

I tried dealing with Couches - had better price on Unit but was not willing to do anything with trade-in. So wound up getting our 3400RL at Walnut Ridge in New Castle IN. Last week they had one on the show-room floor that was discounted pretty good.

Back in 2002 I got a number of good quotes the same way. I just did a search on montana fifthwheel and every dealer with a means to contact them got a request from me for a quote. I even described the tradein including options and got a quote for trade difference.

Rich,

The Columbus dealer I was thinking of was Post's RV I believe. VERY nice and VERY informative, not the cheapest but seemed like a great person. Have you been there?

Rich,

His quote was competitive, but it was more his professionalism that impressed me. If I lived closer, I would have purchased it from him and driven to pick it up.

Do you have a phone number or address for Foleys? I can't seem to find them listed anywhere in the Seattle area. We have purchased from Tacoma RV in the past but would like to get some competitive pricing this time around.
Thanks for your help.

Hank,

Maybe this will help.
Burlington, WA: 1(866) 857-8200
Marysville, WA: 1(877) 365-3978

If you dont mind traveling across the mountains to eastern Washington, try Blue Crick Rv for a price quote as well. I have bought both my Montana's there, and they beat all the prices I got from the Seattle area. www.bluecrick.com I can give you a great salesman name if your interested.

Montana Sky,

Thanks for the info and yes I'd would like to get the name of your salesman at Blue Crick. Do you know anything about D&L in Wenatchee? Have a friend that bought there a couple of years ago and they thought them to be competitive.
Thanks again,

Hank
