Refrigerator won't switch back to electric
We had a power outage today and the fridge switched to gas as expected...the power went back on in a couple of hours...I went to the fridge later and noticed the gas light was still on...I turned it off for while and back on and it still read gas...it is of course on the auto setting...I checked fuses...ect...no problem found...does anyone have any ideas...thanks for the input.

When I called and talked to the service manager at my dealership about a similar problem, he analyzed it over the phone and identified the problem. It became a quick fix without a cost.

Try unplugging and plugging back in. It may have a electronic freeze from the surge when the power came back on.

I found the problem...the fridge is hooked up to the gfi outlet on the counter as well as the outlet on the outside of the living room slide. I have a bug light plugged in outside and we had a large storm filling the bottom of the light...it made an electric short and the gfi circuit tripped just like it was supposed to...this made the fridge have no power until I reset the breaker...interesting chain of events but it did fix the problem...thanks for the help.

By chance was it no power to the television that made you think about the GFIC?

Shoot, Zach, I'm sorry I didn't think of that when you first asked. I knew it's on that circuit, which is one of my beefs with our electrical system. I'm glad you got it figured out.
