Flood Alarms
Just purchased a water sensor for $30.00 Cdn which will sound an alarm if we have a water leak in the RV. We had one in our Mountaineer, woke up in the morning, thought the floor looked very shiny only to find out that through the night a pipe had come loose and we had a flood. Don't want that to happen again!! This little gizmo works by sounding the alarm when water touches the little wires. It works on a 9v battery. Diana

Havn't put in yet as the 5er is in storage and I only picked up the alarm this morning. I would imagine we would probably put it where the water connects to the water pump. That was where our leak came from in the TT. Colin will have to look and decide the best place for it. I would think somewhere in the kitchen area as that is where the problem usually starts. Anything to save the mess we had before. Not funny!!! Diana

Sounds like a good item to have on board. Never thought of one before. Thanks.

Thanks, Diana. It's a new idea to me, too. So, would appreciate if you'd post particulars when Colin gets it installed. Thanks.

Chester: I bought it from a store in Whitby called Plumbing and Parts. They had to order it for me. Don't know whether Home Depot would stock them but I would imagine Home Hardware might be able to help you.

Had a friend who made a thing called a "Floodhound"... one more thing to go "beep" in the night.
I suspect he may have a few (thousand)left if anyone is interested.
