On the "Brinks Safe". We are replacing ours with a fire proof box about the same size. I'm more worried about fire than I am theft. Our gold and coins will be someplace else that is not so easily identified. Don I know you don't want to tell us where your secret hiding places are but I'm sure curious about where you found some places.
Happy trails............................

That looks great Steve, we have the whole storage under the bed in our 3685 but now we are looking at 3400 an I was wondering if that was space under that plywood and yes I have some wook to do.

I really liked the idea of under the bed. I am going to look into that this weekend since I'm currently working now. There are some good ideas and I'm going to start looking for those little hide away spaces. Keep up the good information.

Don ... we too were aware of the slide mechanism when we were working on this project. For that reason, Steve locked out the other slides and, when it was packed with everything we wanted to store under there, I brought the slides in several times as Steve sat on the floor next to the bed and watched. We did, in fact, have to re-position two large space bags of seasonal clothes as they were being pushed by part of the slide. It is now packed so that nothing under there moves when the slide comes in. It's amazing how much stuff we were able to get under there!

As a result of this project, we freed up lots of storage space in the closet and an entire drawer under the TV.

Colleen, I haven't decided whether to put it on the floor under the plywood or relocate it elsewhere. I removed it so I could remove the plywood. We also have a heavy fireproof box for important papers. The box you see in the picture is a three-sided plywood box covered with felt or some material just to cover the hydraulic equipment. Ozz made one for his and gave me his extra one. That's what's in the picture (thanks again, Ozz).

Don, to add to Vicki's comment, you're correct you have to be careful what goes between the metal rails and the bedsides/frame as the 1x2's could catch on something and drag it along. For that reason what we have in that area are soft things that would not damage the frame. What you see in the picture is my winter coat and an old pair of workboots. Both are sufficiently pliable to not cause a problem. But one would want to be careful what is on those outside edges. Good point.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

The one we have now is a glide and all open w/a plywood floor. I was going to put blocks around the bottom edge an put a floor in to bring everything off the floor so it will come in w/the slide.
