washer dryer vent

hey all,
interested in putting in a stacker washer dryer in our trailer. we have a 2005 3400RL and have the closet right next to the door. in looking at the closet there is a vent in the roof of it, does anyone know if this is for the dryer vent, or does it need to be installed out the side like most do. thanks

From what I have been told the vent in the ceiling of the closet is there for the circuit breaker panel in the watercloset wall. I am planning on having the stackable unit put in hopefully this summer and was told the dryer would have to be vented outside the coach.

We have the 3400RL. We do not have the stackable but the combination Splendide 2100. Our Dealer installed it and cut the vent into the outside wall of the RV. In ours its right at the bottom behind the door to outside but if you had a stackable it would have to be cut higher. It looks fine, the vent is just like the stick house ones. Diana

Our dealer installed a Kenmore stackable set in our Model 3475. They cut a hole in the trailer wall some 3 or 4 feet above floor level and installed a vent there. The Kenmore unit has a panel that slopes from the rear of the washer's top surface upward and toward the front / bottom of the dryer (if that makes any sense). That removable panel conceals the flexible vent pipe from view and establishes the necessary location of the vent. It is a remarkably space-efficient design, and the vent seems to work very well.

I do have a little concern in that the exterior vent is somewhat obstructed or covered by the entry door, if the entry door is open while the dryer is in operation. I have not noticed any problem with that arrangement, but wonder if it might ultimately yellow the door or unduly hinder airflow from the dryer.

We have the Kenmore stackable washer & dryer too. We have not had any yellowing on the outside yet. It is vented too.
Also the Kenmore has a switch on it that will only allow you to wash or dry at one time. My husband (Don M) on here, He put another plug-in in basement and he added a cord and plug on the washer, (They were sharing one cord) He plugged the dryer in closet where they sit and the washer is plugged into the new plug-in, in the basement. Now I can wash and dry at same time.
If anyone is interested to know how he did this you can send him a private message. He will try to explain how he did this.

When they installed our stackable, they put the vent right outside the closet just behind the entry door. Looks great, and the door being open doesn't bother it a bit.

Our installation was in the rear with the vent facing out the rear of our coach. Although installed in a different area than yours it will look the same.
