Small Country Campground, Louisa, Va.

This is a Passport America campground so I figured it was a nice campground. I researched it and it looked like a nice campground to go to in Virginia. Both our daughters are now in Charlottesville and we wanted to visit the area.
Boy, were surprised. There was green stuff growing in the container they had around the water hook up. The sites were dirty and had leaves and twigs in them. They did not show us a level site.
I will not return there nor will I recommend it to anyone. We sucked up a loss and moved after a couple of days. Went over to Madison, Va to a campground called Shenadoah Hills on route 29. What a difference. It too is a Passport America. A little further out but at least we weren't afraid to use the pool.

A few years ago we also checked out that park but didn't stay in it for the reasons you mention.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Same thing happened to us a few years ago. And yet, every RV Show we go to in the Richmond, VA-Washington DC area, they are there handing out their beautifully printed brochures! I still don't know where they took the photos for that brochure! We left right away and headed over to Pocahontas State Park, just south of Richmond. No sewer at the sites, but it's quiet and peaceful.
