Campground in the Seattle area - Montana Owners Club

Were going see the team everyone loves to hate, the New York Yankees at Safeco Field in Seattle Washington on July 11, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding a campsite for a couple of days in the general area. $78.00 per ticket, ouch.

We stayed at Lake Pleasant RV Park in Sept of '08. It was very nice, clean and in a nice area. It's a short drive to Seattle and surrounding sites. If in the area....we would go back there. Hope this helps.

We are currently in Seattle and I agree with Yamaha_Mama. To quote a famous friend, "Seattle is not RV friendly"!

We have looked at almost every park in the surrounding area and Lake Pleasant is the best one particularly if you are visiting the north side of Seattle. It is not cheap ($44/night (includes tax and license) - no discounts of any kind) but it is not the most expensive. It is a full hookup park with most sites on the lake (out the back window).

Check Google Earth for a birds-eye view of Lake Pleasant v. Trailer Inns (parking lot next to the freeway). I wish I had used Google Earth before selecting the park we are in.

Yes, RV parks in the Seattle area are few and far between. Avoid Trailer Inns in Bellevue. It is a parking lot with stripes and very close to your neighbors. KOA in Kent is nice but one f the most expensive in the are if not all of KOA.

How far away would you be willing to stay. North of Seattle are two Casinos with nice parks and reasonable rates. About an hour north of downtown. There are a couple of nice parks east if you have RPI or Coast to Coast. There is a brand new park up north called Maple Grove RV resort. Not sure of prices, but looks very upscale. Let me know how far out you are willing to stay and I will give you a couple specific suggestions for lodging.

I second, that Seattle is not RV friendly, I feel boxed in just driving the truck. We will take a good look at Lake Pleasant RV Park and thanks for the heads up on the Trailer Inns, we would like to be as close as we can be, but realize Seattle is a big city, so we would travel what we have to, to stay in a nice park. Has anyone stayed at Dash Point State Park, not sure if its big rig friendly, it is south of Seattle, not sure weather we are better off traffic wise to stay to the North or the South of the city.

What a super great idea to use Google Earth to check RV Parks re freeways, railroads, etc. Thanks!

You can also use it to find campgrounds. Put in the name of the city. Once the map is established, in the map search pane, put in rv park, or campground, or mexican restaurant, or italian resturant, and watch the map get populated with what you have asked for. It's not perfect in finding everything, but it will give you a good idea.

I use www.bing.com/maps as it provides a better birds view than Google, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for your insight on campgrounds, looks like we will stay at Lake Pleasnat RV park. No one would want to drive downtown on game night, so we try to find a park and ride and take a shuttle to the game, I hope the Mariners pick up there socks and make it a good game, if not, well theres allways lots of beer available.
