Cool wheel bearings

Good evening, here's the scoop, our Montana fifth wheeler (2009 3465 SA ) I think 6000 lb axles. The RV is in the Florida Keys, we are in Pennsylvania, I'm looking for the right size wheel bearing numbers so that I can order them up here and have them, if I need them, when we go down there. Being hurricane season, there is always the possibility that we will be in a hurry to go and tow it out. If a bearing needs replacing, there will not be time to check it out, order it there and wait for its arrival. I would like to have them in hand. Anybody have the same unit and knows the bearing numbers it would be Greatly Appreciated. Montana dealers don't have the information on their computers, even the manufacturer is of no help (I still can't believe that). Thanks Rich & Brenda

It might have 25580 inner bearings with 25520 races, 15123 outer bearings with 15245 races, and 10-36 seals, but unless you had the axle tag and called Dexter, this is all a maybe with these numbers.

You will likely not need any bearing replacement. If you are doing the work yourself, grease and the seals are definitely needed, and maybe one bearing if there happens to be a bad one, and if there is a bad one, be sure to replace the race also. Please remember, this is just what information I was able to glean from a search online, and we know everything found online is accurate.

Yes, I will be doing my own work. This is precautionary, my plan is to repackage the bearings, make sure the brakes are rust free. My concern was that I don’t have bearings if I needed them. We towed the trailer to the keys in Feb 2018, and it has been there ever since. Thanks again

I'm an avid do-it-yourselfer but have never repacked axle bearings. Since I'm planning on keeping this trailer for a very long time and have heard stories of bearings being short on grease from the factory sometimes; I would like to get this done. Is this something I should be able to do myself over a weekend day? I've pulled up a couple of videos and most seem to show someone using a machine to force grease into the bearings. I apologize if this is a really novice question, but I'd rather do myself if possible.

It’s a messy job, but fairly easy. The biggest challenge is removing the races, they have to be carefully hammered out. There are many videos on the process. Also when tightening the axle but , getting the right amount of pressure. But by just pumping in more grease, might push out the axle seal.

This is an excellent video that will give you everything you need to perform bearing service. The only thing I never do is use a sealant on the seal and have never had a seal come loose. The seals are tight enough to not need and help keeping them installed. https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/s...1&action=click

The races only come out if you are replacing bearings. If you are just repacking the bearings, the races stay in.
