True. Have read multiple posts of people forgetting their flush was running with the drain valve closed resulting in a fountain spewing forth from the roof tank vent.

With 30 years and several campers, I have always kept the black tank valve shut while flushing out until 3/4 full, then open it. Never heard of air build up or tanks splitting. I think I would be checking my air vent.
