Our Great Adventure

After spending a month at a campground in Maryland so we could have time with our new grandson, we left our Big Sky at the dealer for a bit more "tweeking" prior to heading out on our 2 year adventure.

At 10:09 this morning we left Manassas Virginia pulling our Big Sky on our way to our first stop in Ohio to visit family. After all the planning and preparing, David and I are feeling very excited. We are currently driving through Maryland heading for the PA turnpike.I'm on the computer using my verizon aircard, we are listening to our new sirius radio and we are in hog heaven!!!!!!!!!

Wish we were tagging along behind you, LOL. Verle has to return to work today and neither one of us wants him to go. Oh well, in a month we get another 2 weeks off, then another 2 weeks in Early Nov. and then in December nearly 3 weeks. Then, Jan. 1 we start over on planning our trips for the next year. How odd/funny how our priorities have changed, LOL. Verle works rotating shifts and gets a 4 day weekend every 6 weeks, when we add that to regular weekends and his actual vacation days we can squeeze quite a bit of Big Sky time in there. Hope you have a wonderful adventure, I KNOW you have a wonderful rig Sue and Verle C

David and JoAnna

Look forward to hearing about your adventure. Our Big Sky is at the dealer's and has been for about a month. We will see how a dealer does that we did not purchase from. We told them we did not care how long they had it but just fix everything right. We do miss traveling in the Big Sky. However, we are enjoying the cool air in Munds Park (near Flagstaff). We went back to Phoenix yesterday and just about roasted.

Glad you got to stay in the area to get acquainted with the new baby. Have you got any further plans on the trip to Alaska. Make sure you look us up when you get to AZ this winter. Karen and John

It is a lot of fun being up here in the North land. We were in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts today. The beautifully cool temperatures are so refreshing. You are gonna like what you see and feel.

David and Jo-Anna,
Jackie and I are excited for you and wish you safe travels and lots of fun. You will be back sooner than you think just to see that new grand baby, it's hard to stay away.

We are just finishing up selling all our "stuff" and moving into our Big Sky, the house is set to close on the 4th of September then we are only moving 3 miles to Oasis RV park until Jackie retires the end of April next year. We will be following in your tire tracks after that.

Again best of luck and have fun.

Congratulations! After following all the preparation by post and email it's great to hear you two are starting the great adventure. I'm just sorry we were unable to get together when we were in your area and we had to leave for a family emergency. Maybe we'll see you on the road one of these days.

Congrats! How nice it is to have the freedom to travel when and where you want. I was going to work this summer until the end of Sept. but think what I have to get done to the Monty before we also hit the road I plan on ending my summer position a couple of of weeks early. It has been nice in Yosemite this summer, what a deal couldn't have done it as well without the Monty.

Here's wishing you great experiences over your next two years on the road.

Thanks for all of your good wishes - LIFE IS GOOD!!

We spent the first two nights in Streetsboro, Ohio at a lovely and very green campground.

Today we moved to Vermilion, Ohio - we have a great spot about 500 feet from Lake Erie - the breeze is absolutely wonderful.

Sunday we will head to Indiana and visit the National Lake Shore Park for a few days.

Again, thanks for your good wishes

Nice that you are enjoying our part of Ohio. We are as we speak at a campground very near Streesboro, Ohio. Vermilion is just a short distance from our home base One exit west on either I-90 or the TPK. Vermilion is a beautiful area on the Lake and we go to C.G's in the area often.

We have been following your threads since the beginning and used them as our planning guide, figuring we are about a year behind you. Just ordered the TV and looking forward to your reports.
