While the White House said yesterday that the President would sign it and the House passed it, the Senate has yet to vote on it. Although it's not a done deal, it does look good. Thanks for cheering for us furloughed folks.

The ones that get paid will be the essential personnel who stay behind after the "non-essential" workers are furloughed. They get "IOU's" that are paid when a budget is finally passed. The "non-essential" workers get diddly squat.
That's how it's been explained to me... just so you know.
Just heard that, by unanamous vote (Dems, Reps and Pres), you will ALL be getting paid when this is over. Wa-HOO!

Just reported on CNN:
"Retroactive pay is provided under the bill, but federal workers can't expect paychecks until after the government shutdown ends and Congress reaches a resolution on the budget."
Interestingly enough, it looks like DoD will allow us to go back to work next week but we'll have to wait to get paid (for both back pay and work we will perform after returning to work) until after the shutdown ends (passage of continuing resolution or budget).

If the Government defaults we will most likely not get a pension check the 1st of November along with a lot of those on a Federal Pension . However all is not lost.By that time we will be toiling for the Mouse at Disneyworld and the day is saved.

Just a FYI for everyone interested. I reported to work today (I work as a civilian for the US ARMY}
My son who works for the US Forest service is still out on furlough. I'm still not sure when we will get paid. (SIGH!)
