Fantastic Fans

I have been looking on ebay but can not find a fantastic fan like the one which came with my unit. Where did everyone get their second fan? Any websites other than ebay?

Well, we ordered 4 fantastic fans on our 06 3670. However, when it came in it had only 3. We have one in the living area, one by the water closet, and one over our King bed. We were told if we wanted we could still have the 2nd air so we had it wired for it. We do have a place for the air conditioner, but we really enjoy having the automatic fantastic fans more than another air conditioner!

I couldn't even imagine running a FF in the bedroom over the bed. The one in the kitchen is so loud, I don't think I'll use it much, except when I want to circulate air quickly. I feel like I'm in a wind tunnel when that thing is on...LOL

If you are putting the FF in the hallway ceiling between the shower and the toilet, and are putting on the special MaxAire cover that Glenn spoke of, is there any reason to get the more expensive model with the rain sensor?

If you get one without the rain sensor, does it make sense to get one of the mid-price range models, like the 4000 or 5000, that can either pull air in or exhaust it, so that you could set the one in the hall to pull air in and the one in the kitchen ceiling to exhaust air, thus giving you a good flow thru?

I have a full vent fan in all four vents and would not be without them. I also changed the AC vent covers so that I could put the air where and when I want it. Life is reeeeel good.

I think that the noise that is being experienced is relative to what you desire. In our case, we don't notice the fans as much as we do the AC. The AC is much louder than either of the fans or both of them together. Maybe it's all in what you get used to. The vent fan over the range is louder than our FFs.

We just installed the Maxxair cover for the Fantastic Fans today. They do not allow you to open then fully as Delaine and Lindy stated. I think the vent covers come in handy for help protecting the original cover from getting cracked also.

We have the Fantastics in both the kitchen and over the bed. We usually run them at reduced speed - venting in the kitchen and drawing in fresh evening air to the bedroom on low speed. The "white noise" the bedroom unit makes is refreshing to sleep by.

Also installed are the proper Max-Air covers on all vents.

We ordered only the one in the Kitchen area. Then installed one between the shower and bathroom to vent out the shower humidity. Was going to put one in the bathroom but seems that the small fan works OK for now. Picked ours up at C.World for 109 bucks if I remember right. Easy install just remember to get the glue seal strip for under the fan edges then Dicor over the top of the screws. For those 70 degree days keeps the Monty nice and fresh.
