Interesting thread...we opted not to get the fireplace. Not so much as a storage consideration (I can't imagine filling up all the cabinets) as one of not needing it. Can't imagine us doing much camping in weather cold enough to warrant the fireplace and its $1300 price. As previously mentioned, we have a couple of portable heaters used in previous RVs that will do a fine job, and take up very little space.
