3295 over head doors

Does anyone have hydralic openers on their doors in the table and couch area. Im talking about the overhead door's. Everytime we want to put something in them you have to use your head to hold them open. Thought maybe you could use some kind of opener.

I bet that idea would work nicely. We only have one upward opening door in our Montana. Next to the high ceiling above the refrigerator. It was almost impossible for my vertically challenged Navigator to use that storage area until she acquired a card table leg brace for me to install there. It was cheap easy to install and works like a charm. It was available in a local hardware store.

A spring loaded hydraulic cylinder or hatch back strut of the right size would probably work even better. I expect the cost would be more and possibly prohibitive if you have a bunch of doors to do.

No, we don't have those kind of doors, we don't need them. All of our doors open from side to side, not up and down. I would be upset if I had to use my head to hold the door open so I could get in there, I wonder when they changed that? All of them open like a normal cupboard door.

We have the 3685FL. The cabinet above the refrigerator and the one above the TV have the upward opening type doors. I got tired of using my head to hold the door open so I bought the struts that Camping World sells. The struts come in a variety of sizes. They were fairly inexpensive. I think I paid around $10 for the one to hold the large door over the refrigerator open and about $6 for a pair of smaller ones to hold the door over the TV open. They were easy to install. It took about 30 minutes to do both.

Since I’ve put the struts on the door above the refrigerator Pat has rearranged things and taken out the kitchen items because it’s too high for her to reach without a step stool. Now extra pillows and blankets are kept in there. Of course she couldn’t have done that first!

Ok here we go a low tech solution. I had a bit of scrap cedar but anything will work. The floor tile is a 6 inch square, so the sticks are less then 18 inches long.

Here it is in use.
