Support Jacks for Slide Out

We just purchased a 2001 Montana 305 FKS with a slide out. Is it necessary to provide additional support when the slide is out? Seems like it would be.!? Any comments? Thanks. Joe.

We've had this Montana for almost two years including living in it fulltime while traveling for 15 months. We've never used supports and have never had a slide problem. So I don't think they're necessary, at least in my opinion. We have a couple of times buttoned the rig up for travel to discover a nearly flat tire. I shudder to think what might have happened to the slide mechanism had we been using the supports. Again, this is my opinion. In the manual for our model it says do not use supports.
