Lookin for slide cable holder

Good morning everyone... I am not sure what to call what I am looking for... Anyway, there is the piece of plastic that is about 2.5 inches high and about 3 feet long that is beneath each slide that holds the cables going from the slide to trailer. I call it the slide cable holder/guide/retainer.

Anyway, two of mine are cracked and about to break. Any ideas on where to obtain some replacements?

Thanks,
Chris

If they are cracked at the end I added a hinge on the end of the black piece and mounted the other end at the slide. Your dealer should be able to order them if they have broken in the middle.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

Many folks here have repaired those holders with hinges and bolts. I have and it works pretty well. You may try to search history and find some pictures or some one will be along with more info. I cut through where it was cracked, took a nice size gate hinge(what I had on hand) and bolted the hinge to the strap in the middle of where it broke and I had finished cutting it apart. Have fun at Garner, over the holiday, great place.

Replacing them won't help - eventually they will crack again. If you fix them as suggested above, they will probably last forever. The plastic just doesn't hold up to the constant flexing when extending and retracting the slides. Inserting a hinge (or a piece of rubber like I did) takes the flex issue away.

Ours cracked about 2 years ago, so I just cut it off at the crack and drilled some new holes in the plastic. It has held up since then.

I did the hinge fix. I was fortunate to find black hinges at the hardware store. I'm not very mechanically inclined but it was an easy fix for me.

I am not mechanically inclined at all but I did repair mine using black plastic ties. Here is the posting that I made when I did it, including a photo. I have had several tell me that I should have used the hinges but my big fingers could only do this. It worked and is clean. http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=34403
