Black water tank.

while spending a Month near Yellowstone Park. I did a booboo. l filled and drained my black tank. I forgot to shut off the fill hose valve, went to town 10 miles away. 15min. Later, I got a call saying water was running out of my rig(a 2015 Montana 3100. we rushed back to camp, the water was shut off eariler. opened the rig there was no water anywharein the rig? the only water was coming from under the basement floor. the only thing I can think of is the black tank may have a hole or crack in top of the black tank. Any thoughts?

Assume you were filling the black tank using the blank tank flush to get water in the tank? If mine, I would check at the convenience center for leaks, and the fill connection itself which is plastic. The black tank flush valve is also prone to failure. If all that is good, a tank leak would be the next suspect based on overfill. But before I did anything with the underbelly, I would fill the black tank halfway, check for leaks, add water and recheck, until full.

I believe you are telling us "you closed the tank blade valve, the flush water was still on and you went to town".
If that's the case, drop the belly cover, spray the area with a mixture of water and Clorox. Now turn the flush system on and check for leaks. If no leaks, perhaps fill the tank around half full. If still no leaks, you bought yourself time to get it home. If the tank vent is still intact, better yet.
The probable cause is the tank split at the top seam. You can test if this is the case by filling the tank. I would only do this in a proper place, not an RV park.
I'm not an expert, but I played one last year.

We thought we had a tank failure on our new line Big Sky. Keystone approved a new tank and it was shipped to the dealer. When they removed the old tank, they discovered that the tank was fine. Turns out that the glue they used to bond the pipe to the top of the tank, didn't bond. They cleaned the area, used a flex connector and re-glued the pipe to the tank. No problems since.

I overfill my black tank and did the check before leaving for a trip. Worked fine for two days and a little fluid in the tank and then on the road again. Got to my next stop and it was leaking, sloshing of the fluid in the tank resulted in the leak. Removed tank and found top of tank split. Tank replacenemt required. I hope not to make that mistake twice!!

My tank split at the top, caused by the same issue as yours. I used this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o01_s00

to fix it. Very east to take the tank out. But rinse it VERY WELL before taking it out. LOL.
