Angel Soft

I just watched a commercial about Angel Soft being new and improved plus being stronger. I checked my latest purchase of same and the packaging says it is two times stronger. I haven't used any of the new pack yet, but my question is has anyone had any issues with the new stuff?
Thanks,
Don

Do a search for Angel Soft, there have been a couple of recent threads where the Angel Soft is causing problems by not breaking up and disintegrating the way paper used in an RV should.

Tried 1 roll . No more. Back to camper special paper. AS does not dissolve well.

I won't be using it anymore. We're finishing up with the old stuff and will be going back to RV TP.

Guys, have you tried Charmin? We seem to be having good results with it. However, I'm trying to use up the 24 double roll package that Georgia Pacific gave me FREE! Will not purchase any more when it's gone. Don't like RV TP and haven't had any plugging up problems in over 12 years of full timing, so will continue the way we are, plugging along (no pun intended), making our way in the RV lifestyle world.

Why are we not having problems with AS. Shook up some in a glass and it dissolved as it always did????
We dropped some in a glass and let it sit for a few mins and it dissolved into mush.It does sit in the tanks for awhile, I have not seen any clumps come out???

After report. You might want to do a re evaluation of the angel soft paper. We have been using this stuff for a very long time.We did a test today on stuff we just purchased this AM. Dropped it in a glass of water and after 20 mins it was just a white mush that we could not even grasp.I am sure that any TP stays in the tank for more than 20 mins. We also flushed the black tank just a a little while ago and we saw no sign of clumping. After reading this thread we were ging to change but thought we would do a new test before jumping to conclusions. Changing is OK buty we see nio problems old or new with AS....

Well we're switching to Scott RV paper. Great ratings and we don't have to check every AS label to see if it's the new stuff. Getting it from Amazon.

We use Kirkland and never had a problem and it is reasonably priced.

Charmin Classic has a Septic Approved label and breaks up quite well.

The consensus is....Use what pleases you. We have used several brands marked "septic safe" with no problems.Just saying that the test we did with AS now does not support there is anything different with the product.

Don't doubt your correct. I just have a policy of letting someone else do the testing and I'll come in late. Led the pack and had to solve the problems most of my life. Now that I'm retired, I've retired from that also.

My problem with most brands is they are all making the rolls narrower than before- The squares are also shorter so we use more- Not a good way for tp companies to satisfy us consumers- JMHO- Don

We purchased 4 rolls of Scott and did the same test but side by side. One glass with A.S and another with scottt after 20 mins they were both mush. I guess it is just the old technician/Engineer left over in me... I have got to test and know. Things do change over time so it is good to re test every once in awhile. Of course we do use a lot of water and we do dump and flush about every 4 days. Now the single ply stuff will turn to mush sooner but we do not use that stuff.Seems that when if use single ply we just use twice as much. We have always found that lots of water and frequent dumps do the job.

Sounds like there might be two formulas for Angel Soft floating around out there. Either that or some parts of the country still have access to some of the old version. We tried the single sheet in a glass of water trick and the Angel Soft that we had did not break up. We had two rolls left and interspersed them with some Scott tissue that did break up. Used plenty of water with the Angel Soft. It is now gone with no problems to our system. We now periodically test the tissue we use in case the formulas change again.

As an aside, our son recently purchased a piece of property that came equipped with a camper. He's been living in it until he gets his house built. He did not know about using paper that breaks up and after 4 months of using some other brand, his blank tank plugged up solid. He had to get a sewer snake to break it loose from the outside. No further details of his mess need be shared here. You can imagine. His experience proves the necessity of having degradable paper.

the scotts we purchased is single ply and we just use more than the double ply AS.Scott does disolve faster becauset is single ply and there is less to disolve. We will try anoth double ply brand although we have no problem with AS but it is good to re check from times to time.
