removing vacuum

DW has always used the rechargeable Dyson vacuum and loves it. our built in vacuum takes up a space below a kitchen cabinet, I would like to remove it and gain another storage space, has anyone done this? Wondering if it will be more work making a cabinet space than its worth.

Don't know about your year and model. On a 2010 3665 it was just a matter of taking a pannel out and then removing the unit.

Ha! I ordered my 5er without that lousy "central vacuum" in the kitchen cabinet, and installed a Dirt Devil unit in the basement. Way more suction. I just need to get and install a VacPan Automatic Dustpan to complete it.
