Kelly & Larry,

If you're planning on driving through CO or WY I wouldn't think you'd have any problems in May. Now I'm not saying we don't see occasional snow that time of year but it's the kind of thing that usually melts the next day. The mountains are a little more dicey but you really shouldn't be going through any mountains until you get close to Yellowstone.
