IF this is a brand new unit, whats the reasoning behind "sealing" the roof?

It was one of the early units and sat on the lot, 2.5 months.
Any opinions welcome...TY

Concur, waste of $. It should handle years of sun without sealing.

I personally think that it is NOT a good investment at this time. Your roof should have a warranty of 7 or more years(can't remember specifics). Just make sure you clean and inspect it at least 2 times a year minimum, some may think thats overkill but thats what I do. Have never had a roof issue in over 15 years of camping with self contained units.

Mine sat on the lot for a year - in Arizona - where it was over 114 degrees a few days. Didn't need sealing.

K. The wife corrected me. We are having the roof conditioned. Does the same time frame apply? Thanks

Agree with everyone on no need for sealer. Not sure what you mean when you say you are having the roof conditioned.

That's way to new to need to be sealed and you don't put any kind of paint on roof sealant on it a rubber roof is maid to stretch with temp all they need to do is clean it and check all
the deicore.

My roof is 13 years old and all I have ever done is wash it a few times a year. Repairs are done with Eternabond tape for tears and Dicor sealant for seams. No conditioners are needed.

Not sure why that is a concern. Most of these units spend their entire life outside.

The only thing that roof will need is a wash and the caps, vent penetrations and edge seams checked. If there are any poorly sealed seams then some self leveling Dicor used for repairs. As far as sitting, ours was built then sat in a field at Elkhart for several months before our dealer put it into his stock prior our purchase. He then washed it and it looked very nice and still does

As stated prior, A simple and thorough wash and inspection is all that should be needed. IF any issues found, then go from there! Get out and ENJOY your new unit, stop worrying about something that doesn't need done.
