Antifreeze drains from black tank flush
Winterized a call weeks ago but didn't have a way to pump Antifreeze into black tank flush. Got a manual winterizing pump and tried to pump Antifreeze in today. Pumped 15% to 20% of bottle...disconnected and all of the Antifreeze ran right back out!!
What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like the check valve at the inlet is not closing. But as long as you got antifreeze pumped thru the line the fact it drained back out is not a problem. It just means the line is now empty. It would have displaced any water that was there and could have frozen.

We always use a little air to blow thru the line.

Was planning to blow air thru but have no power at storage lot. Inverter on truck no strong enough to drive compressor

I use a spiral water hose that came with the trailer and connect it from the outside shower connection to the flush connection and pump antifreeze thru it after all the other lines are done.

On mine there was no check valve at the inlet from the factory. There is an anti siphon valve 10 odd feet away under the bathroom sink. You should probably find it for the heck of it since they are very prone to leaking.

My two gallon pancake compressor holds enough air to blow out the black tank flusher. You will hear the water or anti freeze vacate the line into the black water tank. It's not a lot. Just fill your compressor at home and take it to the storage facility. Jim

13 years never ever added pink stuff or blowed out Black Tank Flush line
Same with my new SOB destination trailer.It is self draining!

Here is a picture of my black tank flush line(along with my shower lines). As you can see it has antifreeze in the line after winterizing. It does not drain after I removed the antisiphon valve. And only drained on the tank side of the valve before I removed it.

In the years we winterized I never did anything with the flush line, but I also had already removed the backflow preventer.

Once you remove the supply water hose all the water on that side of the back flow valve will drain out on the other side of the valve will drain into the tank if that is not happing something is wrong!

Can't say why mine does not drain. It just doesn't. But there is nothing functionally wrong with it. When I start the flush I can easily hear the water spraying into the black tank and soon after starting it an increase in water flow starts coming out the drain. I would not assume mine is the only one that does not drain.
